The old tale of The Puppeteer began in the early centuries, when a plague traveled across the world and took the lives of young children
The myth was that when a child fell ill, The Puppeteer would come to them as they slept, and steal their weakened soul, leaving the childs empty shell of a body in an eternal sleep. The Puppeteer would then take the childs soul and place it into doll, where they would be stuck in an existence between life and death.
But who was The Puppeteer? An angel whom guided the souls of children to salvation? A demon who fed on the spirit of a dying child? Or perhaps he was simply an old myth to help console grieving parents during an era when nothing could be explained...
Over time, the tale of The Puppeteer became a scary story, a warning used by parents so their children would eat their vegetables, wash their hands; all the right things to stay healthy, so that The Puppeteer would not come for them in their sleep.
Like all myths: Santa Claus, the Boogie Man, the Easter Bunny, Bloody Mary, The Puppeteer was simply a tall tale that you heard from your senile grandparents, or from an old book of monsters, or a creepy website you happened to come across...
And like all myths, I didnt believe he was real
until he found me.
